In this context, Artificial Intelligence methods have been used for decades for the purpose of identifying fraud or money laundering within milliseconds. The systems used have to be available 24/7 without any interruption. For that purpose, active-active coupling of data centers is an essential requirement. Since this requires use of the highest standards of security and data protection, the latest cryptographic processes are being used. Some of these methods were specifically developed because the payments industry required them.

From a commercial point of view, a number of companies in the payment sector are listed among the most innovative ones. They are genuine global players, and quite a few are listed in the top indices of the world's largest stock exchanges.
